Disney Dream Cruise

Have you experienced any cruises? If not, maybe you are wondering which cruise you should take… We recommend you experience Disney Dream. You might think a Disney Cruise is for a family with kids, but this cruise provides unforgettable experiences for senior/younger couples as well.

Recreation

The ship was fabulous, clean, and nicely decorated. Surprisingly, Disney had quite a bit of adult only entertainment during the cruise. In addition to the enforced adults only swimming pool /deck area, Spa&Salon, and the adults only night clubs, there were also activities for just adults, such as games, trivia, quizzes, quest, etc.

Rooms

Our room was beautiful and roomy. It had a nice size veranda & very comfy bed, and it was cleaned twice daily. There was a separate room for the toilet and the shower that I really appreciated. The room service was also great! They brought us breakfast every morning so we could enjoy eating on our veranda. It was such a great experience. We also loved how the room attendant left towels in the shape of animals in our cabin every night along with chocolates.

Pools

There are 6 kinds of pools. You have a big water coaster to enjoy, but there’s also a quiet cove pool, designed for Guests 18 years of age and older. The huge deck is for dance parties and “dive-in” movies. There’s also a free ice cream shop. You can enjoy unlimited ice cream anytime.  In the night, the lights are up and the view is so dreamy.

Destinations

Nassau Island

Although we usually don’t hear great things about Nassau, we loved how colorful the city was! People tend to experience dolphin encounter in Nassau, but it is so expensive (over $260!), so we decided to relax at The Tiki Bikini Hut. One of the best things about this hut is that it is so close to the cruise port – 15 mins by walk. They provide free wifi, and the staff was very friendly! Drinks were delicious and their jerk chicken was to die for!!

Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay is Disney’s beautiful private island, and it is just what you expect from a private island. It was clean and quiet, and it offers good food and friendly service. The ocean was crystal blue and it was very relaxing.

We booked Castaway Cay Sandbar Beach Adventure beforehand, and we cannot recommend it enough. There were only 2 couples (besides us) attending the adventure, and it was very quiet and beautiful moment. This was definitely my favorite experience from Disney Cruise. We took off on an exhilarating ride across the Bahamian waters to a charming, deserted sandbar, only available for anchoring at low tide. They gave us a couple of cups of Bahamian Rums and Coke, and they were delicious!!

Dining

Palo

Palo is an adult-exclusive restaurant serving Italian Cuisine in a luxury setting with stunning seaside views. Fine Italian begins with artfully prepared antipasti. For our main course we chose Osso Buco di Vitello — Slow roasted centre cut Veal Shank with Gremolata and Risotto Milanese. The flavor was phenomenal. For a sweet ending, we recommend you try the chocolate soufflé with vanilla bean and chocolate sauce.

Remy

A French-inspired menu of superior seasonal ingredients ensures dining at Remy is always a first-rate affair. We joined Remy Dessert Experience. It is an adults-only dining event, and you can enjoy a 5-course dessert menu, dessert wine, coffee and an in-depth discussion with the Executive Chef. As each dessert is presented, they’ll explain its history and evolution.

Breakfast

Their breakfast was buffet style. They were simple but delicious!

Overall, Disney Dream was AMAZING.  I could go on and on and I know that I have left several things out. I could not have asked for a more perfect vacation! It was a gorgeous ship with amazingly friendly staffs. Who knew Disney Cruise was for adults to enjoy?  I simply can’t wait to do it again. You need to go book this cruise NOW!  Hope this helps future travelers 🙂

Adventure in Costa Rica

IMG_3951

One of the main reasons I wanted to visit Costa Rica was to explore its beautiful wildlife! This was my first solo trip, so I wanted a knowledgeable local guide, and then I found Bucus Tours, located in Manzanillo, Costa Rica.  Manzanillo is located on the east coast of Costa Rica, a 4 hour drive from the capital city of San Jose.

The town of Manzanillo is a tropical paradise getaway. A relatively quiet area with only a few tourists here and there, it is known for the most scenic beaches in Costa Rica with fantastic weather all year round.

Things to know before your tour :

  • Each tour is 4.5 hours
  • Bring water (It was extremely warm and humid there)
  • Sun block and hat
  • Good hiking boots
  • Long Trousers if possible
  • Camera with long lens (Lots of animals were out there)

I was excited to take this tour because it has amazing reviews on Trip Advisor. Omar is the man who showed me around. I did 3 tours with Omar: Dolphin Tour, Kayak Tour, and Jungle Hike.

Dolphin Tour

This was my first time to ever encounter wild dolphins… They were swimming around us for a while as if they were greeting. It was an unforgettable experience.

Kayak Tour

Can you tell how peaceful it was from the pictures? Just be prepared to paddle on this tour because you will be kayaking for a while. I was exhausted by the end of the tour but it was worth it.

Jungle Hike

Omar spotted animals from miles away that would just look like a shadow to us. We saw all kinds of creatures, such as a viper, sloths, monkeys, and snakes! His knowledge, love for nature, stories and sense of humor added even better experiences.

It was less like a tour and more like hanging out with an old friend who is showing you his home. I strongly recommend it!

Fairytale City in Mexico

When you think about Mexico, Cancun, Yucatan, Tulum, and Mexico City are easily on your top destinations to visit. But today I want to introduce a magical city called San Miguel de Allende.  It’s easy to swoon over the 500-year-old colonial city’s narrow walkways, baroque architecture and artisan shops selling plenty of crafts, jewelry and handmade accessories. This city is truly out of a fairytale.

Approximate cost from Leon Airport to San Miguel
Taxis = $100 USD
Group Shuttles = $25 USD
Private Drivers = $75 USD

I hope I inspire you to visit this beautiful city in Mexico. You won’t regret it!
